4 Ways to Start Your Morning Off Right

Studies show that how we start our mornings have a direct impact on the quality of our day. Here's 4 things I do every day to start my morning on the right note!




Have you ever heard of "winning the morning?" That was my biggest goal in the second half of 2021. I knew that waking up to constant demands from my toddlers was NOT the best way to wake up. I had to change my habits. These are the things I've put in place that have totally switched my day around. I seriously feel like I win every morning!


Get up early


“Go to bed early. Wake up early. The morning hours are good.” --Jeff Bezos

Listen, all I'm saying is if one of the most successful entrepreneurs in American history says the mornings are good, then I believe him. My mornings totally switch for the better when I wake up before the boys. There's nothing like that 45 minutes of quiet when it's still dark out to clear my mind and prepare me for the day ahead... Especially when there are two high-energy boys to answer to afterward #boymomlife


Fuel!

You guessed it. Coffee! Not only is this a necessity at this point in life, it's also something I look forward to. It's like a little secret treat I give myself to say "hey, you got this! Good job waking up early girlfriend." My favorite right now is a mocha iced coffee mixed with a vanilla protein shake. I grab a giant mason jar, load it up with ice & BAM! I'm on my way.


Get in The Word


In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.” Psalm 5:3

Well, I've given you two ideas so far, but if there's one I highly suggest, it's this one. Starting my day reading the bible means starting my day centered. I'm able to have that one-on-one time with the Lord, seek Him first, and ask His guidance for my day. If you don't do this already (like I didn't until 2021), I think you'll find it beneficial for your mood, clarity and positivity throughout the day.


Take my vitamins

Last but certainly not least, I HAVE to take my vitamins. Being busy means not always having balanced meals. Our overall health starts with what we ingest, so we want to make sure we are taking care of ourselves! I start each day with a pack of vitamins that include B-vitamins, omegas, a daily & a fruit a veggies supplement. Don't stress though! Those are all combined into only a couple pills... phew! Next is an iron supplement and a probiotic (do you know how important our gut health is?!). I feel the biggest difference in my energy (and my digestive tract... helloooo belly cramps :( ) when I miss this.
